          We each bring unique history, conditioning, and hardwiring to the table: no two people, after all, will interact with a poem, let’s say, in the same way. However, this in itself strikes me as the beginning of a possible conversation rather than the conclusion: that I bring a certain subjectivity to the editorial process may explain my default leanings, but the fact that such a dynamic exists at all necessitates a further inquiry; i.
