Starlight in Exile

the mother bone
   great pelvic girdle
      hammock hung from
         the head of the heart
            bone fulcrum

            sway rocker
         on its helical haunches
      and in the dark
   heart of the matter
a second beat rises
   to its crescendo

      a beat beat and a
         breath a pump pump
            and a slow dissolve in
               to rainbow colored
                  code switching flesh

               home gone from
            the mother bone
         the sheep’s head
      the burrowing breath
   of the birth nest
